We have reviewed both PrizePicks and Underdog and both are viable player prop sites to play on. In this comparison we will look at what each of the sites does the best and then give a final recommendation on which one is the best.

To start out though, you should be playing on both. Every single day these sites have different lines on various props. If you want to play a 2-pick slip on PrizePicks that has Chet Holmgren at 15.5 points, it makes sense to at least check Underdog which could have him at 14.5 and will greatly increases the odds of your slip hitting.

Welcome Bonus

The first aspect we want to compare PrizePicks vs Underdog is on their welcome bonus. As of January of 2024, these sites have identical welcome bonuses. They are both 100% deposit matches up to $100. So this is an obvious tie, although don’t expect any more ties in this review.

Advantage: tie

Payout Structure

You’ll notice that above there are three screenshots. That’s because Underdog doesn’t have 6-pick slips, at least yet. Underdog (right) has a slightly higher payout for getting 4/5 but 3/5 on PrizePicks gets you 40% of your money back.

Picking 3 props on PrizePicks only pays out 2.25x for a protected play but going 2/3 still makes some money at 1.25x. Underdog’s 3-pick slip pays more at 3x on a protected play but just 1x (or your money back) for 2/3.

A 2-pick slip on PrizePicks pays at 3x, the same on Underdog. The advantage here has to go to PrizePicks. They offer a 6-pick slip while Underdog doesn’t. The pick multipliers are different on both sites but don’t greatly lean either way.

Advantage: PrizePicks

Markets

The markets are almost identical as far as what sports, leagues, and props they have available on each site. PrizePicks has a few more but all of the top leagues are accounted for on both. Navigating PrizePicks is just easier though. To find all points over/unders on Underdog is impossible, it doesn’t exist. On PrizePicks you can clearly see all the stats available.

As far as fun and new props, PrizePicks takes the cake there. You can find over/unders on dunks or other more obscure props and more combined stats such as LeBron James + Jayson Tatum combining for 49.5 points.

They also both have adopted bigger multipliers but PrizePicks also has lesser multipliers for easier lines to hit.

Advantage: PrizePicks

Promos

This one is tough. It’s more of a personal preference. Underdog has more promos per week. When writing our Underdog review, they had so many promos just in that week. Almost everyday users could get some kind of slashed prop, free prop, or risk-free play.

PrizePicks on the other hand will most commonly have one slashed prop per week and then Flex Friday where users can play up to a $20 slip and get their money back in the form of credits.

The advantage here has to go to Underdog as they have a ton and different promos. The Flex Friday is nice on PrizePicks but it is just site credit and the slashed promos often don’t even hit and are repetitive.

Advantage: Underdog

Platform

This is reviewing the overall platform on desktop. Not sure about you but when researching picks to make I am on my computer so I only place slips on the computer as well. While Underdog does probably have a better app, the desktop is what the real players play on.

The main thing that PrizePicks does well is clearly show all the props available. With Underdog, honestly is harder to find everything as each player has a dropdown of their props and you can’t filter by stat.

Clearly showing everything available is huge. PrizePicks has to have the advantage due to this.

Advantage: PrizePicks

Overall: PrizePicks

Overall, PrizePicks wins 3 categories while Underdog wins just one. In the end you should be playing on both due to the line differences, different promos, and up to $100 of free money just for signing up for each one.
