In this review we will breakdown the Underdog player prop site considering five different categories: promos, gameplay, winability, markets, and strategy. Underdog offers more than just player props but for this review we will strictly be looking at their player prop offering.

What is Underdog?
Underdog offers best ball, daily draft contests, and (what this review is about) player props. The player prop offering is very similar to PrizePicks but has some unique differences.
The multipliers are higher the bigger the slip is but Underdog also offers insured slips that allow users to win even if one of their picks don’t hit.
Underdog will often offer slashed props. For example, Mikal Bridges at 24.5 points may get slashed to 20.5 on any given game.

Underdog Promos: 4.5/5
The welcome bonus is fairly standard for a player prop site. A 100% deposit match up to $100 can get you $100 free to play with. The welcome bonus doesn’t offer any risk-free wagers like DraftKings and FanDuel do, however.

Where they excel more is in the constant promos for their current users.
There are a ton of slashed props each week on Underdog, even more than PrizePicks I would argue, although I haven’t tracked it over a long period of time. Just this week there were slashed props for football games on Saturday and Sunday, a slashed NBA prop during the week, plus two slashed NBA props on Friday. The upcoming weekend may even feature more slashed props.
Underdog also will offer free squares fairly often. Place a $5 wager to unlock LeBron James over 0.5 points or if your slip loses due to an injury in the first half, then get a refund plus a free square. That was also during the same week as all the slashed props.
The ability of Underdog to have tons of slashed props ans deals within just one week span is truly impressive.
Underdog Gameplay: 4.5/5

The gameplay on Underdog is pretty straightforward. Users can play slips with a minimum of 2 props in them up to 5 props in a single slip. The more props in the slip, the higher the payout.
An added feature to Underdog is that users can ‘insure’ their wager. For example, an insured play on a 5-pick slip pays out 10x for getting all 5 picks correct BUT if you only get 4/5 correct, you still get a 2.5x. You can also play a non-insured slip and if all 5 hit you get a 20x.
There is some strategy to making the picks such as looking at past performance, injuries, and line shopping.
That’s all there is to the gameplay of Underdog player props!
Underdog Winability 4.7/5

Basically this section is how easy it is to win on Underdog. It’s never easy to but compared to some other sportsbooks and player prop sites, Underdog is fairly good.
As far as slashed props, Underdog may be the best in the business. Earlier in the promo section we noted how many props were slashed in just one week. There were slashed props on Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday, and two on Friday plus a free square if a player got injured in your slip and a free square if you placed a $5 wager. With so many promos the odds of you winning are much higher.
It’s also nice to play some ensured bets. You will win more but the payouts will be less. Still, it increases the overall winability on Underdog.
PrizePicks Markets 4.4/5

Underdog will cover basically any league you are looking to play on such as: the top leagues like the NFL, NBA, and MLB but they also have NHL, MMA, Boxing, Soccer, eSports, Tennis, Golf, and more.
They do feature a ton of markets on Underdog but it is common that they hold off on posting props due to some injury news and for some NBA games you may only see props for 2 or 3 players all night. Other times there are 6 players on a team with props up. The inconsistency is the only gripe here.
Look for boosted props as well that are higher lines but add a bonus multiplier to your payout.
Underdog Strategy 5/5
Underdog involves a considerable amount of strategy, focusing on factors such as past performance, matchups, and injuries. Line shopping is a crucial element to maximize value as well.
For those who prefer data-driven approaches over line shopping, Outlier is an excellent tool with a 7-day free trial. It provides insights into the frequency of successful prop hits over the year, the last 10 games, or specific conditions like playing a certain amount minutes or stats with or without an injured player. Essentially, it serves as a comprehensive source for player prop data.

John Collins’ PRA line is 20.5 but he has hit that in 68% of games. Also on the right you can see how his opponent, OKC, ranks giving up the 24th most rebounds etc. It could be a good one to take. You can also see how many times he has hit this with Lauri Markkannen playing or not and many other stats.
Another strategy is manual line shopping, comparing odds between platforms like Underdog and PrizePicks. For instance, if Devin Booker’s points are set at 24.5 on Underdog and 25.5 on PrizePicks, opting for the over on Underdog presents a good value.
While this is effective, manually line shopping can be time-consuming, and your access to all of the sportsbooks may be limited. Oddsjam offers a 7-day free trial, that automatically does the process for you by presenting all sites with the prop and identifying the top value picks. It’s a convenient and fast method for efficient line shopping.

The screenshot above shows the process, but scrolling further to the right you will see even more comparisons from various sites and their respective prop values. In the given example, the line is set at 10.5 on Underdog, while FanDuel offers it at 11.5. Additionally, other sites display their odds at -135 for hitting over, indicating good value on the pick.
PrizePicks Overall: 4.62

This is a very solid grade. Where Underdog is great is with their constant promos and the strategy is easy to learn and conduct.
Overall, Underdog player props is a game that is simple to play and you’ll usually find a good amount of props on the site to choose from. The constant promos for their users has been great. It seems like almost half of the days playing there was at least a slashed prop, if not a better offer. Also, for those who are sick of losing a parlay by one pick, you can still miss one and win on Underdog.
