What is PrizePicks?

PrizePicks is a player prop site that is technically a game of skill. Players will have to combine at least two player props and a maximum of six player props to place a slip.

The multipliers are higher the bigger the slip is but PrizePicks also offers flex slips that allow users to win even if some of their picks don’t hit.

Look out for constant promos such as slashed props on Tuesdays, weekend slashed props, Flex Fridays, plus some other guaranteed props (see below).

PrizePicks Promos: 4.5/5

The welcome bonus to PrizePicks is good, not great. A 100% deposit match gets you in the game with a big bankroll but they don’t offer any risk-free wagers like DraftKings and FanDuel do. Use code: PR-7JCHVRW to get the deal below.

As far as promos for their current users, they would get 5/5 stars.

The first type of promo they offer their users are slashed props. These are available every Tuesday and sometimes other days throughout the week. For example, a normal prop for LeBron James may be 24.5 points. The slashed prop may allow users to pick LeBron over 19.5 points.

Next we have Flex Fridays. Every Friday users can opt in to this promo and get a risk-free wager up to $20. If your slip doesn’t win anything, then you get your money back in the form of site credits.

Additionally, very rarely we see guaranteed props, such as Kevin Durant over 0.5 points Durant has never scored zero points in an NBA game so it is essentially free. These are rare but users need to take advantage of them.

PrizePicks Gameplay: 4.5/5

The gameplay on PrizePicks is pretty straightforward. Users can play slips with a minimum of 2 props in them up to 6 props in a single slip. The more props in the slip, the higher the payout. While this is the only thing that PrizePicks offer (unlike a competitor site like Underdog) it is more than enough.

An added wrinkle to PrizePicks is that users can ‘flex’ their wager. For example, a flex play on a 6-pick slip pays out 25x for getting all 6 picks correct. BUT if you only get 5/6 correct, you still get a 2x, and if you get 4/6 correct you get 40% of your money back.

Look at other sportsbooks and player prop sites to find the best props on PrizePicks, such as LeBron at 24.5 points on PrizePicks but he is at 25.5 on another site. We breakdown how to do this more efficiently in this strategy guide.

That’s all there is to the gameplay!

PrizePicks Winability 4.8/5

Winability isn’t a real word I don’t think but we just mean how easy or hard it is to win on PrizePicks. We gave it 4.8/5 because compared to other sites it is extremely easy to find and place wagers and the ongoing promos for users give you an edge over most any other site.

For example, if you are playing on DraftKings, they rarely slash props but you can expected a slashed prop at least every Tuesday on PrizePicks which is a prop with a much higher percent chance to win.

Additionally, users can wager $20 every Friday for Flex Friday and get their money back if they lose in site credits. No other sportsbook does that every week.

PrizePicks Markets 4.4/5

PrizePicks covers major leagues like NFL and NBA but they also have NHL, MMA, Boxing, MLB, Soccer, League of Legends, Call of Duty, Apex, Tennis, Golf, and even more.

That’s a ton of markets so why is the rating just a 4.4/5?

Well, for the NBA (probably the main sport they cover) it is not uncommon to only 3 players that have props available for a certain team. This is unlike DraftKings that will usually have at least five players to wager on. Although, sometimes 6 or 7 players on 1 team will have props on PrizePicks, it is more common to have just 3 players up when there is injury news on the horizon.

Additionally, PrizePicks offers unique props such as Over/Under 1.5 dunks for a certain player or things you can’t find on any other sites. Maybe 4.4 was too harsh of a grade…

PrizePicks Strategy 5/5

There is a good amount of strategy that goes into PrizePicks. Looking at past performance, matchups, and injuries are the main strategies but also line shopping is a big one to get max value.

For people who like to look at data rather than line shop, Outlier is a great tool that has a 7-day free trial. Basically it will show you how many times they have hit that prop this year, in the last 10 games, or even how many times they have hit it if they played a certain amount of minutes in that game. It’s basically a 1-stop shop for data on player props.

The other most common strategy is line shopping. You can line shop completely on your own by just looking at PrizePicks and then looking at Underdog (or any other site) for the same prop. For example, LeBron James may be at 24.5 points on PrizePicks but 25.5 on Underdog. This indicates good value on PrizePicks by taking the over.

The above strategy works but it is very time intensive to do this and you may not have access to every other site that has the prop up. There is a 7-day free trial on Oddsjam that shows you every site that has that prop up and gives you the top value pick based on that. It’s the easiest and fastest way to line shop.

^ This is an example of how it works but you can scroll further to the right and see even more sites and what they have a certain props at as well. You can see above that the line is at 10.5 on PrizePicks but FanDuel has it at 11.5 and other sites have it at -135 to hit over, which is a strong indication it may hit.

PrizePicks Overall: 4.675

Had to go down to three decimals for this actual final grade of 4.675 not rounded up.

Overall, PrizePicks is a really easy game to play and there are usually a ton of props up to choose from. Even if you don’t hit all your picks you can still be a winner and there are promos every single week to take advantage of.
